Addie W. Hunton (1866–1923)

A financial strategist who championed economic opportunities for Black women through the National Association of Colored Women (NACW).

Eunice Hunton Carter (1899–1970)

A lawyer and forensic accounting pioneer, she used financial strategy to tackle organized crime and corruption.

Henriette “Hetty” Green (1834–1916)

Known as the “Queen of Wall Street,” she built a massive fortune through sharp investing and a strict “buy low, sell high” strategy. During financial panics, she lent money at fair rates to financiers and city governments at a time when nearly all major financiers were men.

Muriel “Mickie” Siebert (1928-2013)

In 1967, she became the first woman to have a seat on the New York Stock Exchange. She dedicated her career to advocating for women in finance, championing equal opportunities, and expanding financial literacy programs.

Emma C. Chappell (1941–2021)

The first Black woman to charter a commercial bank, she founded United Bank of Philadelphia to serve underserved Black communities.
