The American Council of Life Insurers Joins FARE as an Industry Partner

COLUMBUS, OHIO, July 22, 2024 – The Financial Alliance for Racial Equity (FARE) is pleased to announce that the American Council of Life Insurers (ACLI) is FARE’s newest Firm Member adding an important partner in support of FARE’s work to advance racial diversity, equity, and inclusion within the financial services industry.

ACLI is a leading trade association advocating on behalf of 275 member companies that provide financial protection and retirement security to 90 million American families. ACLI’s member companies offer life insurance, annuities, retirement plans, long-term care insurance, disability income insurance, reinsurance, dental and vision and other supplemental benefits.

ACLI is dedicated to ensuring that all Americans have access to essential financial tools regardless of their life stage, work status, or economic situation. ACLI aims to make financial protection products accessible and affordable to meet the diverse needs of the communities its members serve.

“Partnering with the American Council of Life Insurers is an important step for FARE,” said Nicole Ridley, Head of Operations at FARE. “Their focus on providing financial security and their advocacy for inclusivity resonate strongly with our mission to promote equity in the financial services sector.”

“ACLI and its members are working to remove barriers that discourage people from diverse backgrounds from entering the life insurance industry,” said ACLI President and CEO Susan Neely. “Our new partnership with FARE will attract diverse candidates into our industry. A diverse workforce that better reflects the communities we serve will expand access to financial security products and help close the coverage gap that affects low- and middle-class families.”

“Our new collaboration with FARE aligns with our ongoing commitment to build a more diverse insurance industry workforce,” said ACLI Chief Inclusion Officer Michelle Carroll Foster. “We look forward to working with FARE and its members to expand our reach and foster inclusion and belonging within the financial services industry.”

FARE and ACLI will enhance support for their members and the broader financial services industry.
