Register for HBCU Live: In The Black
FARE will host the second annual in-person HBCU Live event on September 13-14 in Washington D.C. The event will feature a career fair and breakout sessions for HBCU students, alumni and black professionals looking to explore opportunities available in the financial services industry. FARE firms, industry partners and HBCUs are invited to send representatives to the event to network with attendees.

Last month, FARE hosted a special session for FARE mentees and mentors during the annual Conference of African American Financial Professionals (CAAFP) , the nation’s premier professional development conference for Black and African American financial professionals, sponsored by The American College of Financial Services.

Scholarship Spotlight
Seven diverse students and professionals were awarded the FARE CFP Board Diversity Scholarship in June!
The scholarship awards up to $5,000 per recipient seeking to complete a certificate-level CFP Board Registered Program, and up to $7,000 per recipient seeking to complete an undergraduate-level CFP Board Registered Program, which would qualify them to sit for the CFP® exam.

Industry Updates
Cohort 3 of the Black Executive Leadership Program kicked off on March 16-17 at the OneAmerica Tower in Indianapolis, IN and concluded on June 22-23. The second cohort was held at the Truist headquarters in Charlotte, NC from October 2022 – February 2023. Over 60 professionals participated in the 2023 program, an initiative of The American College Center for Economic Equality & Empowerment.
