HBCU Live Update: Save the Date!

FARE is hosting the third annual in-person HBCU Live event at Howard University on Wednesday, September 18th. This year’s theme is “The Future of Finance: Creating Black Wealth.” The event will blend HBCU culture with insightful workshops and networking sessions.


Registration will open at the end of May. Stay tuned!

FARE Represented at the Columbus HBCU Classic

Earlier this month, FARE sponsored the Columbus HBCU Classic. Nicole Ridley, FARE’s Head of Operations, delivered an inspiring message to attendees, emphasizing the importance of financial education and career paths in the financial services industry.

The event, featuring the 3rd Annual College Basketball All-Star Game & Extravaganza, showcased the vibrant culture and traditions of HBCUs and Ohio institutions.

FARE’s support celebrates these legacies and provides scholarships to bridge the racial finance gap and empower future leaders. Speaking to the high school attendees at the event, Nicole said, “Every sponsor, ticket holder, athlete, and entertainer is here to invest in you. To invest in your future.”

FARE Attends IRI Annual Conference

FARE recently attended the Insured Retirement Institute (IRI)’s 2024 Annual Conference. This three-day conference explored the latest insured retirement industry developments and insights through sessions on technology, compliance, and marketing, all led by top leaders in the field.

FARE Receives Recognition from Nationwide

Nationwide, the founding member of FARE, was recently recognized by John Carter, President & CEO of Nationwide Financial at Nationwide. Nationwide’s recently released Corporate Sustainability Report highlights its partnership with FARE and our work together to build sustainable economic wealth in diverse communities and increase the number of diverse financial professionals in the financial services industry.

FARE Featured on DEI Panel at Franklin Templeton Conference

Kristi Rodriguez, FARE Board President and Senior Vice President of the Nationwide Retirement Institute at Nationwide Financial, was a featured panelist at Franklin Templeton’s Diversity Equity and Inclusion Conference. Kristi leads teams advocating for financial empowerment, serves as a community advocate, and founded FARE.

During the panel discussion, Kristi addressed the mission and challenges of FARE. Her insights underscored the economic and cultural value of advancing DEI initiatives.

FARE HBCU Partner Achieves New Milestone

Our FARE HBCU Partner, Virginia State University, recently announced that the State Council of Higher Education of Virginia (SCHEV) approved its College of Business to offer a new Master of Business Administration (MBA) program. This milestone program addresses the critical need to enhance diversity in business management and leadership roles.

Shani Armon Recognized with IRI’s Chairman Award
