Insured Retirement Institute Joins HBCU Live as a Silver Sponsor

COLUMBUS, OHIO, August 22, 2024 – The Financial Alliance for Racial Equity (FARE) is pleased to announce that the Insured Retirement Institute (IRI) has joined as a Silver Sponsor for the upcoming HBCU Live event, set to take place on September 18 at Howard University. This sponsorship underscores IRI’s commitment to fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) within the insured retirement industry.

As the leading association representing the entire supply chain of insured retirement strategies, IRI and its members account for 90 percent of annuity assets in the U.S. IRI’s members include life insurers, asset managers, broker-dealers, banks, marketing organizations, law firms, and solution providers, all of whom are dedicated to serving millions of Americans with protected lifetime income solutions.

“We are delighted to welcome the Insured Retirement Institute as a Silver Sponsor for HBCU Live,” said Nicole Ridley, FARE’s Executive Director. “IRI’s commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in the insured retirement industry aligns seamlessly with FARE’s mission to foster a more inclusive financial services sector.”

IRI’s DEI strategy is comprehensive, featuring initiatives such as a vibrant Women in Leadership program, partnerships with industry groups focused on DEI, and the development of resources to help the industry achieve its DEI goals. Through these efforts, IRI empowers its member organizations and financial advisors to identify opportunities for change and plan for transformative action, ensuring that the workforce reflects the diverse communities they serve.

“We are excited to sponsor this special event to give more high-achieving students exposure to people and opportunities in the financial services industry,” said Shani Armon, Chief Membership and Marketing Officer at IRI and a member of FARE’s Board of Directors. “IRI embeds DEI principles in all that we do and engages in deep, active partnerships with key organizations, like FARE, to move our industry forward and build a workforce that reflects the communities our members serve.”

The HBCU Live event will gather HBCU students, alumni, young professionals, and professional networks for a day of finance industry education, recruitment, and networking. This initiative is a testament to FARE’s ongoing efforts to promote racial diversity, drive greater equity, and foster inclusion within the financial services industry.
