Huntington Bank Joins HBCU Live as a Gold Sponsor

COLUMBUS, OHIO, August 8, 2024 – The Financial Alliance for Racial Equity (FARE) proudly announces that The Huntington National Bank (Huntington) has joined as a Gold Sponsor for the upcoming HBCU Live event in September at Howard University. In addition to their sponsorship, Huntington will fund the travel expenses for students from Winston Salem State University (WSSU) to attend the event.

Huntington is known for its longstanding commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), and has been a leader in creating a more inclusive environment that leverages diversity effectively. This partnership with FARE underscores Huntington’s dedication to fostering equity and providing opportunities within the financial services industry.

“We are pleased to have Huntington Bank as a Gold Sponsor for HBCU Live,” said Nicole Ridley, FARE’s Executive Director. “Their generous support not only as a sponsor but also in covering travel expenses for WSSU students highlights their commitment to DEI and investment in future leaders of the financial services industry. This additional support also demonstrates their dedication to fostering growth within the local community.”

Huntington’s DEI policy reflects its understanding and acceptance of diverse points of view, abilities, backgrounds, and experiences. This commitment to inclusivity applies to every aspect of their business, striving to ensure that all colleagues feel valued, respected, and heard.

“At Huntington, we recognize that each colleague brings a unique blend of talents, experiences, and diverse perspectives to our organization. We take pride in embracing this diversity, both within our teams and in the communities we serve,” says Heath Campbell, Huntington’s executive managing director in the Carolinas. “Here in the Carolinas, we are deeply invested in the success of our communities and the students who represent our future. By supporting HBCU students and exposing them to the financial industry, we not only foster their growth, but we also enhance the industry’s diversity, which positively impacts us all. We are thrilled to be able to additionally cover travel expenses for WSSU students to attend HBCU Live.”

The HBCU Live event will bring together HBCU students, alumni, young professionals, and professional networks for a day of finance industry education, recruitment, and networking. This initiative is a testament to FARE’s mission to increase racial diversity, drive greater equity, and foster inclusion within the financial services industry. Learn more at thefare.org/hbculive.
