Helping Develop the Next Generation of Black History-Makers
During Black History Month, M Financial Group underscores the importance of recognizing the many contributions of Black Americans throughout our nation’s history. Through our partnerships with like-minded organizations, we aim to foster a more inclusive life insurance and financial services industry that opens the door for future Black history-makers.
As a founding member of Nationwide’s Financial Alliance for Racial Equity (FARE) initiative, M Financial is working with Nationwide’s leadership, Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), and others in the financial services industry to create a more accessible environment for aspiring Black financial professionals.
On Feb. 10, 2022, M is sponsoring and participating in FARE’s first HBCUs education event, “Beyond the Basics – Navigating from Senior in College to Senior Professional,” from 3-5 p.m. PT. College students and financial professionals who want to learn more about career opportunities in financial services can register for the education event through Feb. 9, 2022.
We’re also pleased to support our Partner Carrier Prudential as they equip M’s financial professionals with supplemental tools to increase life insurance literacy within Black communities, with the ultimate goal of helping Black Americans build more secure financial futures.
Through our partnership with The Links, Incorporated, we seek to contribute to the nonprofit’s mission of enriching, sustaining, and ensuring the cultural and economic survival of African Americans and other persons of African ancestry.
A core tenet of our Magnet Program, now in its third year, is to train and develop financial professionals who can create solutions for the next generation of wealth, with a special emphasis on working with diverse communities historically under-represented in financial services.
The lessons we learn from Black history inspire our actions this month and all year long. There’s a lot of work still to do, and we are committed to doing our part.
