The American Retirement Association has joined the Financial Alliance for Racial Equity (FARE).
The Financial Alliance for Racial Equity—a coalition comprised of nine leading financial services groups, six historically Black colleges and universities and four strategic partners, including the American College and the CFP Board—was launched in 2020. FARE’s mission is to create awareness around financial service career opportunities to attract and retain diverse talent.
“As we work to expand access to retirement plans across the nation, it is imperative that the retirement industry expands and support the number of retirement plan professionals from communities of color, both to encourage and work with small businesses from those same communities in providing those opportunities,” said Brian Graff, CEO of the American Retirement Association. Founding Members of the Alliance include Morgan Stanley, M Financial Group, NFP, Employee Benefit Research Institute and Nationwide Financial, in partnership with HBCUs, including Howard University, Lincoln University, Hampton University, Virginia State University, Virginia Union University and Winston-Salem State University.
